Channels are public, and you are responsible

A channel is a public broadcast. Unlike your chats, channel posts are not end-to-end encrypted: anyone who can open the channel can read them, and Burner can review them. As the creator you are fully responsible for everything posted in your channel, including posts by admins you add. You must be at least 18 years old to create a channel.

Never allowed

• Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance: the channel is removed, the account is banned, and we report it to the authorities (in the US, to NCMEC) with the details we hold.
• Buying, selling or promoting illegal drugs or other illegal substances, weapons, explosives, or stolen goods.
• Terrorism or violent extremism, or support for it.
• Threats, harassment, bullying, or abuse of any person or group, and hate speech.
• Sexual or intimate images of someone without their consent.
• Publishing other people’s private information (doxxing).
• Scams, fraud, phishing, or malware.
• Pretending to be another person, brand, or organisation.
• Content that breaks the law where you or your audience live, or infringes someone else’s rights.
• Spam and mass unsolicited promotion.

What Burner may do

We can remove posts or the channel, limit or ban the account, and keep records of what was posted, at any time and without notice, when we believe these terms or the law were broken.

Your details and the authorities

To create a channel you verified a phone number. You agree that Burner may keep and share with law enforcement and other authorities the information we hold about your account — including your verified phone number, username, account and channel activity, and channel content — when the law requires it, when we receive a valid legal request, or when we believe it is needed to protect a child or anyone from serious harm. For child sexual abuse material we report on our own initiative.

Reports

People can report a channel. We look at reports and act on them. Deliberately false reports are also a breach of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, you will be asked to read and accept them again before creating another channel.
